Artist, Jeremiah Van der Want has recently sold some of his art from our art gallery at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock. It’s not hard to see why. His landscapes are magnificent and one can very easily get drawn in and mesmerised by his use of colour and stroke, that creates a sense of nostalgia and longing. Strange how art has the power to evoke emotions. It’s a wonder there are any his works left, well, at the time of writing. This post may be obsolete by the weekend.
An interesting thought has plagued me though, why would somebody purchase 2 of the three landscapes of Table Mountain, Dawn, Day and Dusk and leave the third… That bothers me. I’d really like to get to that answer at some point. If you’re the lucky person who scooped those two pieces, please won’t you inform us as to your decision to leave ‘dusk’ on it’s own…?
If you’re in the area for whatever reason, grab a coffee downstairs and come visit us at Hamilton Art Gallery, and maybe one of Jeremiah’s pieces will adopt you too.
