JEREMY ROSE
Jeremy Rose was born in 1989 and has been painting for most of his adult life. The loss of the use of his left arm while travelling in Vietnam has given Jeremy a renewed passion and zest for painting.
He has since then dedicated all his time, energy and creative inspiration to expression through his art, resulting in a wide variety of striking and original paintings, some refreshingly large in scale. Jeremy draws inspiration from the great Impressionists as well as the Fauvist movement, known for its bold use of colour and line. He describes his world as ‘loud’, but this does not mean that it is not executed with meticulous care and heightened sensitivity. He focuses on abstraction and seeing the elemental forces at play underneath the surface of things.
His abstracts are courageous investigations of the nuances of shape; colour and texture. Rose has recently held solo exhibitions in various galleries in the Cape and is now painting full time in his studio in Cape Town.
